Class Curriculum Taka tailors her classes to fit all ages and levels of students and teaches many styles of belly dance including, Egyptian styles, and American Cabaret Fusion. Knowing the importance of having a strong foundation in the basics of belly dance, she thoroughly explains each movement and how to break them down. With many years of dance experience, an emphasizes on developing strength and stamina, while developing movement and technique is addressed. Taka realizes that each person has their own individual style of learning, and works with each person in the class to develop the dancer within. Her classes are a great place to get fit, learn about other cultures, have fun, and make new friends!

Benefits of Belly Dance Many would be surprised to know the many benefits of belly dance. Belly dance or Raks Sharki works with the body's natural movement. This allows the dancer to tune into how her body naturally works and moves, Meanwhile, building tone to her body's natural curve. When the dance is done with good posture the pelvis is tucked, or placed forward slightly to provide a neutral position. This protects the lower back, and when done correctly it helps tone muscles and teaches the body good posture. The gentle repetition of movements provides an efficient, yet gentle workout. Bellydance movements works out many area's of the body. Strengthening the arms, upper and lower back, abdomen, butt, and thigh muscles. Belly dancing is a fun healthy way to work out, get in shape, have a creative outlet, reduce stress, feel good, and connect with others. |
